Sunday morning we loaded up and went in search of pumpkins. The house takes great pride in making sure we have great pumpkins (but not the Great Pumpkin!) on display each Halloween night and there are no intentions of this year being any different.
Paige immediately found one that was the same size as herself.
And Carter was right behind her in picking out – and trying to pick up – a giant gourd.
Lori made a good pumpkin mover.
And I found one to use as a brain…for a Jack-o-Lantern you goofs!
All told we bought 11 pumpkins – totalling about 160 lbs! I’m actually about four short for a display I want to put together so I might have to make a run back out for them.
Halloween season is now in full swing. Saturday night we bundled up and took the kids to Boo at the Zoo. The weather was cold, but we avoided the rain and had a good time. Carter was thrilled to see some many adults dressed up in Star Wars costumes. Paige was happy to find an adult witch she could get a picture with.
Oh yeah… the kids asked me to dress up as something creepy.
Carter and Paige with the Biker Scouts. They are members of the famous 501 Legion that has marched in stuff like the Rose Bowl Parade. They gave me a flyer, but Carter was bummed to see that you have to 18 years old before you can join.
Paige and her witchy friend.
She walked around the entire zoo while riding on her broom.
Paige’s new dance class had a practice recital at the mall on Saturday. She’s only been with this new teacher for four weeks, and there are about eight more weeks before the real recital with fancy costumes takes place.
We adopted her and brought her home this morning. She’s been making herself comfortable ever since.
The first thing we did was to take her shopping for toys and stuff. Then she got to spend time in the yard. She even found stinky stuff to roll around in already. That means I also gave her a bath already!
I think she’s finally feeling played out. She’s been laying at my feet for a little bit now.
And Paige learned how to wedge herself into a tree!
