It’s been a busy week for my vacation. We spent Tuesday and Wednesday in Columbus visiting the zoo. It’s a great zoo and I’ve always wanted to visit it, but we had extra motivation this year because the Cleveland Zoo elephants are being kept there while their new exhibit is being built back home.
The aquarium at the Columbus Zoo turned out to be everybody’s favorite. The 100,000 gallon saltwater tank is amazing.
And the manatee exhibit is really cool too – although manatee’s aren’t that photogenic so I’ll show you this picture of Carter looking at floating salad instead. That’s actually leftovers from the keeper finishing up feeding the stingrays that are also in the manatee tank.
And one last picture of the rest of the family looking in on the recently born baby Asian elephant. This was the big draw at the zoo. I guess the line to see it is usually hours long if it is in the indoor exhibit. We got lucky and both days it was outside.
